Hi, I’m Mike Turner.

How this started

I never planned to become obsessed with car detailing. It all started when I bought my first black car
and realized that every swirl mark and water spot showed up in the sun. I began testing different products
on weekends just to keep my own car looking its best, and before long, friends and neighbors were asking me
to help with theirs too.

I’ve been detailing my own vehicles and testing products for over 7 years. I’m not a professional detail
shop owner — I’m an enthusiast who enjoys finding products that actually work without wasting money on
hype.

The lesson that changed how I detail

One lesson that really changed the way I detail came after I ruined the finish on a set of plastic
interior trim pieces by using the wrong cleaner. Since then, I’ve learned that the most expensive product
isn’t always the best one, and that using the right product for the right surface matters far more than
clever marketing.

I created AutoDetailIQ to share honest reviews, practical guides, and product recommendations based on
real-world experience. If a product saves time, delivers great results, or offers solid value, you’ll find
it here. If it doesn’t, I’ll tell you that too.
